At the age of fifteen, Scott Cervine was one of the youngest people ever to be accepted by the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood. He studied with the finest magicians in the world for seven years. At the age of twenty he was accepted as a full fledged member of the Academy Of Magical Arts and quickly became one of their most popular performers. It wasn't long before Bill Larsen, the president of the Academy Of Magical Arts, was writing the following: "Scott Cervine is the talk of the magic world this year, having won both the 'Improvisation Award' and the 'Magic Seminar Award.' He does pure unadulterated magic. His star is in the ascendancy and we should be watching this young man in the years to come." And watch they did as he went on to be the only magician ever to be named "Magic Entertainer Of The Year," two years in a row.
Soon Scott Cervine realized he also had a flair for comedy and began to study with groups such as "Second City" and "The Groudlings." He decided to incorporate what he was learning into his magic and the result has been his most successful show to date. The highlight of which is a parody of his own award winning act. Scott says, "It's amazing, the minute I started making fun of myself I began working like crazy."
Scott Cervine was even given an award by Siegfried and Roy at the Tropicana hotel in Las Vegas, for his unique combination of comedy and magic. Television is another familiar venue for Scott. Appearances include; The "Magic Of The Magic Castle," on CBS; Featured in the Billy Joel video, "We Didn't Start The Fire," on MTV; as well as spots on Entertainment Tonight; and CNN's "Show Biz Today." He also performed on a PBS documentary entitled, "The Comedy and Magic Club's15th Anniversay Celebration."
This exposure led to international television appearances the world over on shows such as "Attention Magie" in Paris, "Magia Y Fantasia" in Madrid and "The Martes Hour" in South America. He was even the star of one of Japan's highest rated television specials, "The Magic Olympics."
Scott has appeared (and disappeared) in over a dozen countries. Including the prestigious Winter Garten Theater in Germany, the Futurist Theater in England and the International Theater in Tokyo. Next up was a multimedia show created by Scott and an associate entitled XTV, which incorporated film, video and live performance. The Los Angeles times declared it a hit and said that ,"...Scott Cervine is an irresistable force." This show led to a Mark
Goodson video award for one the shows funniest moments, a parody of the show Crossfire on CNN.
Scott appears "Live On Tape," everyday at Universal Studios and has acted in numerous award winning shorts, industrial films, commercials and television programs. Roles on shows such as 3rd Rock From The Sun, JAG and Strong Medicine led to Scott's latest adventure; writing, directing and starring in three award winning short films that are being distributed world wide.
