Dara Duguay is considered a national expert on personal finance. Currently the Director of Citigroup's Office of Financial Education, Dara is responsible for coordinating Citigroup's financial education efforts globally in over 100 countries. Citigroup has committed $200 million over 10 years to improve financial literacy around the world. Ms. Duguay is also the author of 3 self-help personal finance books: "The Citi Commonsense Money Guide for Real People," "Please Send Money: A Financial Survival Guide for Young Adults" and "Don't Spend Your Raise: and 59 Other Money Rules You Can't Afford to Break." She is the former Executive Director of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy--a highly respected advocacy group working to promote financial education in the U.S. She is also past Director of Education at the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS), and was a professor at the University of Phoenix (1996-1997) and California State University (1993-1997). Dara Duguay's media experience includes major U.S. print publications including The New York Times, Associated Press, USA Today, Money Magazine, Parenting Magazine, Investors Business Daily, Child Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens, among many others. An accomplished public speaker, she regularly appears as a guest on stations such as National Public Radio, Fox News Channel, CNN fn, Bloomberg, and MSNBC. Duguay currently records a monthly segment called Financial Fitness on a DC radio station and writes a quarterly column for the Department of Defense in their Military Money magazine. Among her many accomplishments, Dara has received the Medal of Merit from the U.S. Savings Bonds Volunteer Committee (1999-2002), was appointed to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Economics Steering Committee, and has served in a consultant role to companies such as Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, American Express and Capital One. Ms. Duguay received her B.A. in Communications from the University of Michigan, and her M.A. in International Relations from Schiller University in Paris, France.
