To Phil Goodman and the members of his company, demographics are not as important as strategies based on the psychology of marketing. He refers to this as Genergraphics®, but it’s also his keen observations and street-smart experience that his clients depend on. Phil certainly has successful credentials. Since 1955 he has been deeply involved in advertising and marketing. In 1974 he started Western Media Corporation, a media and marketing firm specializing in the hospitality industry. It was during the mid-1980s that Phil observed a subtle change in consumer media use and spending patterns.

His interest continued to be heightened as these patterns became more distinct from the traditional ones. In 1987 Phil began to document these differences. On an extremely practical level, he uncovered and defined these differences. In 1995 Goodman opened the Boomer Marketing Research Center in San Diego, followed soon after by Generation Transitional Marketing. In 2005 Phil launched Genergraphics®, the international language of marketing. Today, Phil Goodman is considered one of the foremost experts on the generations…and their mind-sets.

Goodman has counseled the FOX Television Network, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Harrah’s Hotel & Casinos, New York Life on Genergraphics and Boomer marketing just to mention a few. He has done market research for the Ford Motor Company and has been a special consultant to numerous radio, television, print media and retail accounts. He has also consulted extensively with hotel chains and resorts, including Starwood Hotels and Hyatt. In 2012 Phil was appointed the Generational Consultant for Smart Meetings Magazine.

Phil is also author of "Genergraphics: Sales and Marketing for the 21st Century." He has also authored, "Boomers: The Ageless Generation." In it, using research and actual business experiences of the Boomer generation, Goodman provides straightforward, down to earth marketing techniques. Goodman was a featured author for "Media Scenarios 2020," a research paper published by Aalto University School of Science and Technology.
