Marcy Graves has been treating patients with humor along with traditional medicine for 28 years. She combines her skills as a humorist, professional speaker, Humor and Healing Clown, and Director of Cardiopulmonary Neurodiagnostic Services at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to help other professionals take their work seriously but themselves lightly. Marcy Graves as “Nurse Ducky” presents to thousands of civic groups, business and health professionals from coast to coast and throughout the world on how to infuse humor, love and laughter back into their lives. She has authored two children’s books, "Dr. Bear Addresses Asthma" and "Dr. Bear Heads up on Hand washing" and numerous professional articles on Humor in Medicine. Marcy also finds time to travel the world with other Humor and Healing clowns such as Patch Adams M.D. spreading the joy of love and laughter to such places as Russia, China, South America, and Mexico. She received her Bachelors degree from the University of North Texas and is to date the only Pre-Med/Theatre major to ever graduate from the university. Marcy is the recipient of numerous awards including Outstanding Layperson of the Year for North Central Texas Counseling Association, Texas Health Resources Volunteer of the Year, Fort Worth Business Press Healthcare Hero of the Year 2003, Dallas Business Journal Healthcare Hero of the Year 2004, and Strathmore’s Who’s Who of Leadership and Achievement 2006-2007. She was also recipient of The Great Women of Texas for 2006. Marcy has been married for 25 years to Mark and is the mother of Lauren 21, Nicholas 20, and Caitlin 15.
