The rumor in 1991 was that Jack Klugman was dying of cancer. Back in '89, Klugman had undergone surgery for throat cancer and although recovered, was unable to speak and became recluse. In order to stop the rumors that troubled his friends and family, Klugman agreed to an interview with Entertainment Tonight. It was during that interview, with barely a voice at all, that a doctor heard him and called to say he could help.

Through surgery and months of rehabilitation, Klugman was able to speak again and made a remarkable comeback in 1993 when he and Tony Randall teamed up for the Odd Couple Reunion in live theatre. Jack made his stage debut in the play "Saint Joan" and performed on several television shows in the 1950's.

In 1964 Jack Klugman won an Emmy for his appearance on the show "The Defenders." After appearing in numerous movies, Jack got a starring role in the short-lived sitcom "Harris Against the World."

It wasn't until "The Odd Couple" that Jack Klugman became a well-known actor. His performance as Oscar won him an Emmy in 1971 and 1973. After "The Odd Couple," he played the title role in the police drama "Quincy, M.E."

Jack now shares his inspiring story of tragedy to triumph in an emotional and sometimes hilarious keynote address.
