Bill Metcalf has been helping individuals and organizations break through their limiting beliefs about using new technology for the past 16 years. His PhD in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota and the 6,000 hours he spent in front of a camera as a spokesman for companies have truly come together with his passion for technology to create his new program called “Building Unshakable Walls of Belief.” Beginning with his BS in Communication from Ohio University back in the Sixties, Bill has always been pushing the envelope to discover how we can communicate more effectively. After running a Post Office during his military service in Vicenza, Italy, and managing a small property management company in Ohio, Bill followed his passion into Theatre. His PhD led him into college teaching, followed by a stint as one of the most popular on-camera spokesmen in the city of Chicago. During the 80s, Bill performed in over 600 video projects. Most of these were “industrial films” where Bill played a doctor one week, a farmer the next, and a small businessman the next. In doing these programs, which were primarily marketing or sales training in nature, Bill learned a great deal about how to craft a story in a myriad of industries and professions. During the 90s, Bill took those performing skills and his innate ability to understand new technology on the road as the Nation’s TechnoMotivator™ as he spoke to a wide variety of audiences. Again, he was not a “vertical” speaker – one that focuses on one industry segment – he was a generalist, speaking one week to bankers or credit unions, another week to engineers or technicians, another week to farmers and heavy equipment manufacturers, etc. As the Millennium came about, Bill realized that “It was the economy, Stupid!” He turned all his attention to technology that would enable – even a sole proprietor – to be able to produce high quality multimedia marketing materials that would have a much more dramatic impact over print media to drive more sales in a sluggish economy. In creating this new multimedia “tool set,” he focused on capturing the stories of Raving Fans – the customers who truly LOVE what you do. Bill knew he was on to something that could literally change the nature of communication as we know it. But he also discovered that interviewing Raving Fans also produced great sales training presentations, wonderful motivational materials, and actually helped businesses and individuals discover what they were REALLY selling. These ideas all find their place in the programs and consulting Bill produces today.
