Second City Communications

Second City Communications do more than 300 engagements a year for corporate clients. Our work involves some 250 writers, actors, directors, stage managers, musical directors, instructors, program designers, editors and production crew. Every single year. The Second City's famous alumni include John Belushi, Mike Myers, Gilda Radner, and John Candy. Oh, and Catherine O'Hara, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and countless other stars of stage and screen.

We have theatres in Chicago, Toronto, Detroit, and Las Vegas. More than 1,000,000 people attend our shows each year. The Second City is the largest training center for improvisation and acting in North America with 14,000 students a year. We operate training schools in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Toronto.

Our three international touring companies travel the world including Austria, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Iraq.

We do two things our clients can't do: use humor to bring truth and perspective to their business, and use improvisation to improve communication, collaboration and innovation. Why humor works in business? Beyond its intrinsic value, shared humor helps to create a transparent, open culture where people are truly engaged in their work. Bottom lines and punch lines are more related than you think. Why improvisation works in business?

Improvisers create something out of nothing, and given the importance of creating new ideas, relationships and products, business people could become better improvisers. As the best improvisers in the world, Second City Communications develop learning programs that help clients create, innovate and adapt on the fly when "the best laid plans" go awry.
