Dr. Roger Selbert is one of the best-known and most respected trend experts in the United States. As a business futurist, his 20-year track record of economic, social and demographic foresight is unequaled. Selbert is "the Trend Guy," the premier authority on the major trends of our time. His 20+ years of research, writing, speaking and consulting allow Roger to speak authoritatively, yet concisely and energetically, on the major trends shaping our future. His insights are provocative, often funny, and usually contrary to conventional wisdom. Yet his presentations are always backed by evidence, logic, reason, and common sense. Some of the important trends Roger has identified in significant fields include the speed at which everything is changing, the emerging middle ground, the demographic shifts in the U.S. population, changing roles of men and women in society, the globalization of well being, the integration of Americans off-line and online lives, and mass customization. Selbert was a resident scholar at the La Jolla Institute, a "new economy" think-tank. Roger was corporate futurist at Security Pacific National Bank from 1981 to 1987. He is an internationally recognized author, speaker and consultant on business, consumer, marketing, demographic and technological trends. Roger holds Masters and Ph.D. degrees in International Relations from the University of Southern California, where he was a Fulbright scholar, Haynes fellow and European Commission grantee. He earned his undergraduate degree in history from Bowdoin College and also attended the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
